Driving Innovation for Environmental Safety: PREMIER’s 9th General Assembly in Bilthoven advances novel assessment systems for medicine risks with limited data
The PREMIER 9th General Assembly Meeting took place from September 30 to October 2, 2024, hosted by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in Bilthoven, Netherlands. This event marked a significant milestone for the project, bringing together consortium partners and scientific advisory members to share achievements and celebrate the progress made over the past four years.
Advancing project achievements
The meeting started highlighting the significant advancements made over the past years of the project while also addressing current challenges and exploring future opportunities to drive success. Beyond reviewing progress, participants engaged in discussions to tackle key issues and strategize for upcoming deliverables and milestones.
Exploring project insights
On day two, discussions focused on key deliverables, including the feasibility of green drug design, the application of a Decision Tree for legacy APIs, and updates on EcoDrug+, QSAR models, and the PREMIER ERA database.
The final day highlighted improvements to the Digital Assessment System (DAS), reinforcing the project’s commitment to digital innovation and sustainable healthcare.
As in previous years, early career researchers (ECRs) played an active role in the event, showcasing their work, while members of the PREMIER Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) offered valuable guidance to all partners. The PREMIER consortium remains excited for the future, committed to advancing efforts to minimize the environmental impact of medicines through the development of innovative digital tools and guidance.
