Invitation for the PREMIER Final Event, 9 June 2026, Cambridge, UK

Since 2020, PREMIER (Prioritisation and Risk Evaluation of Medicines in the EnviRonment) has brought together a multidisciplinary consortium of 25 public and private partners across Europe with shared ambition: to contribute to a sustainable future by proactively managing the environmental impact of medicines.

At our Final Event, we open the conversation beyond the consortium by inviting external stakeholders to join the Open Sessions Day, welcoming regulators, researchers, industry, water managers, environmental organisations, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders committed to sustainable healthcare.

What you will see at the Final Event

  • The open database supporting data transparency and evidence-based decisions by regulators, industry and researchers.
  • Novel tools to support environmental prioritisation and risk assessment of pharmaceuticals while avoiding unnecessary animal testing.
  • Use cases for embedding environmental considerations into development and autorisation processes.
  • A forward-looking discussion on how these assets can underpin a new European standard for environmental protection and inform sustainable innovation.

Who should attend

  • Regulators & policy makers seeking robust, accessible information and guidance on managing environmental risks.
  • Pharma & biotech teams integrating environmental sustainability into R&D and lifecycle management.
  • Researchers & water managers using open data to protect ecosystems and public health.
  • Environmental organisations & healthcare leaders shaping the sustainability agenda.
